Welcome to In His Name

We are an official 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We hope to offer comfort to those affected by a devastating loss to SIDS {Sudden Infant Death Syndrome} or SUID {Sudden Unexplained Infant Death} through educational resources, grief support, community, and prayer. We will be sending out the "SIDS Survival Kits" to families in Alabama and Tennessee, and will extend our support to any family that finds themselves on this hard, lonely grief journey. Our goal is to reach newly bereaved parents as soon as possible after their loss of an infant. To order a kit or to find out more about our kit, please go to the SIDS Survival Kit page, or click here. No one should have to walk this road alone!

501(c)(3) Non-profit

After almost 2 years after submitting the paper work, yesterday we received word that our non-profit application had been accepted by the IRS. We are now an official 501(c)(3) public charity, which means that all donations to IHN are tax deductible. Over the next few weeks, we will be work to add to our website to reflect our new change in status.

We are incredibly excited to finally have this part done. Filling out the application for tax exempt status is a very tedious, confusing process. And now we can focus on providing support to those in the area that need it. Thank you to everyone who has supported us and our mission so far! We are so appreciative. We just hope we continue to make our son proud of us like we are so proud of him.

We Remember - March Angels

I apologize for the delay in post this months angel dates. Our family is in the midst of some big changes and adjustments and time got away from me. We also received some big news from the IRS that we will be sharing very soon. :)

Keepsake Item Resource

Over the last year or so i've been contacted several times by people who want me to help promote their websites or review their products. Usually, I delete those emails because I can tell that the people who sent them have no clue about my story or my son {especially when I see what they are asking me to review}.

Last week, I got another email with a similar request. But this one had an entirely different feel. A woman contacted me from the company Everlasting Memories, she started off by explaining how she had found my blog, and who she was. she had read about my son, and even shared a story of loss with me. She cared, and she offered to send me an item of my choice from their website and asked if I would be willing to give her some honest feedback on it.

I'm always looking for new ways to memorialize my boy. But it seemed too good to be true. Honestly, when I wrote back, I was fully expecting to never hear back from the woman. but I did. And quickly. She sent yet another sweet, caring message. So I decided to take some time and pick out something. They really have so many pieces to choose from {cremation jewelry, urns, photo keepsake jewelry, etc.}. But in the end, I took the suggestion of the woman, and went with a photo keepsake necklace.

I sent her the picture last friday, and I got it the actual necklace this past tuesday. I really love it. The pictures don't really do it justice. On the back of the necklace I had "Julius Luciano/I carry your heart in my heart" engraved. The dog tag itself is pretty large. larger than i expected it to be really. You would think it would be really heavy, but it's not. And the picture is so clear. His amazing smile really does come through on it, which is one reason I was so drawn to a photo necklace.

I know not everyone likes keepsake jewelry. But if you are looking for something to help memorialize your little one, or one for family that you know has lost a loved one, I would highly recommend taking a look at what Everlasting Memories has to offer. As I mentioned before, they have so many pieces to choose from, and everything is very affordable as well {the necklace I chose is normally $39.99}. And I am so deeply appreciative to them for giving me a way to carry my boy around {in a more physical sense} with me. I will be adding a link to their site in the "How to help Bereaved Families".
